— why wags?

Neat work. Straight quotes. Shows up.

Every electrician says they're reliable. Here's what that actually means at WAGS.

Written quote. No surprises.

Every job gets a written quote before a single wire is touched. What you're quoted is what you pay. If something unexpected comes up during the work, Shane tells you before he proceeds, not after.

The finish matters.

Electrical work that cuts corners is invisible until it isn't. Cable runs are done properly, sites are left clean, and every job is finished the way Shane would finish it in his own home. That's not a policy, it's just how he works.

On your timeline.

Builder or homeowner, Shane works to your schedule. If first fix moves, tell him early and he'll shift. He won't be the reason your timeline slips or your contractor has to wait. Regional clients: travel is priced into the quote upfront.

About Shane

Shane has been doing residential electrical work across Monbulk, the Dandenong Ranges, and Melbourne's outer east for 13 years. New builds, renovations, fault finding, and everything in between.

He started WAGS Electrical because he kept hearing the same question from people looking for a sparky they could actually trust. The name says it all. Based in Monbulk. Licensed and insured.

If he misses your call, he's probably out with his dogs, but he'll call you back.

Common questions

The questions Shane gets asked most before a job starts. If yours isn't here, call direct on 0455 508 666

  • Yes. Every job gets a written quote before anything starts. The quote covers all labour and materials. If something unexpected comes up during the work, Shane will tell you before he proceeds — not after. What you're quoted is what you pay.

  • Yes. A certificate of electrical safety (CES) is issued on completion of all electrical work that requires one under Victorian legislation: including new installations, alterations, and repairs. The certificate is your legal record that the work has been carried out by a licensed electrician and meets the required safety standard. For landlords and property managers, this is the documentation you need for compliance and insurance purposes. Shane will let you know at the quoting stage whether a CES applies to your job.

  • WAGS Electrical Group is based in Monbulk and services Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs and the Dandenong Ranges as its primary area, including Emerald, Gembrook, Belgrave, Kallista, The Patch, Ferntree Gully, Pakenham, Berwick, Lilydale, Ringwood, Croydon, and Healesville.

Shane also travels to Mansfield in the High Country, and to Warragul, Leongatha, and Traralgon in Gippsland for new builds, renovations, and rural electrical work. Travel to regional areas is quoted upfront.

Not sure if you're in range? Call 0455 508 666.

  • Yes, owner-builder enquiries are welcome. Shane provides electrical services across both stages — first fix (wiring before plasterboard) and second fix (fittings, switches, and powerpoints after). A certificate of electrical safety is issued on completion, which is required for building permit sign-off in Victoria.

  • Yes — working with builders is one of the main things WAGS Electrical does. Shane works to your programme, communicates clearly when timelines shift, and won't be the reason your handover is delayed. First fix, second fix, switchboard, lighting install, and CES on completion.

  • Yes. For electrical faults, storm damage, or power outages, call Shane directly on 0455 508 666. Shane coordinates with AusNet where required for faults involving the mains connection or point of attachment.

  • Yes. WAGS Electrical handles underground cable runs for rural and acreage properties — including supply to water pumps, irrigation systems, outbuildings, and sheds. A recent project in Leongatha involved 180 metres of underground cabling for an irrigation pump, coordinated with the groundworks contractor on site.

  • No. WAGS Electrical does not offer solar installation or solar-related services. For solar work, you will need a Clean Energy Council-accredited installer.
